Watch the constant parade of boats and ships in the area from the beach along the ship channel through town and past the ferry landings. Shops, restaurants, fishing boats and condominiums front the waterway of this portion of downtown Port Aransas. Boaters enjoy the convenience of having their boats close by for a short trip to the bays or Gulf of Mexico. Residential areas around the University of Texas Marina Science Institute enjoy large lots with old beach homes and new beach homes in the quiet neighborhoods that house full-time residents as well as second homes. Ship channel views and short walks to town or the beach are the amenities of this area. A variety of residential areas include the gated community of Porpoise Point or the canal front community of Port Aransas Marina. A variety of condominiums include high rise, low rise and harbor front. These condominiums offer boat slips or fishing piers with restaurants and shops nearby.
Community Park Area
The best of family living is offered here with the community pool, birding center and new nature preserve in this area of town. The Channel Vista neighborhood is the perfect sport for families that want to walk to the pool or recreational areas. Restaurants and for families that want to walk to the pool or recreational areas. Restaurants and businesses are conveniently located nearby. Motels with easy access offer a variety of accommodations throughout this area. Paradise Pond and the Birding center provide beautiful locations to watch a variety of bird life. Nature is close at hand in this area with the Community Park, Nature Preserve, and nearby Robert’s Point Park.
Golf Course Area
Port Aransas is home to the new Palmilla Arnold Palmer Golf Course. The new links course has received praise from golfers from beginning to pros. The Palmilla golf and beach area will provide future commercial and residential areas for our golfing community. These future neighborhoods will enjoy beach, golf, and Gulf views and a close proximity to shopping and restaurants.
Conveniently located from Eleventh Street to Tropic Lane, this area hosts a variety of residential neighborhoods and businesses. The area includes the businesses zone of Highway 361 as well as the residential neighborhoods that shoulder the main access roads in Port Aransas. Enjoy a short jog to the beach or a quick bike ride to the post office, restaurants or local businesses. A variety of architectural styles and amenities are offered in this area. That’s where most of the locals live there because it is older and extremely affordable. Older property, mobile home conversions, affordable housing, inexpensive motels, little shops. It’s a quaint older fishing village. RV parks. Lots of apartments – – not condos, a lot of older buildings that are not built to new construction codes – they are inexpensive.
Beachside Port A
The area to the east of Eleventh Street and west of beachfront offers condominium, homes, motels and businesses. Easy access to the beach and all the amenities of Port Aransas are provided in this area. New cottage developments along with established neighborhoods dot this part of town.
Port Aransas Beachfront Communities
Beachfront communities located on the south end of town with upscale amenities and boardwalks connecting them to the Gulf of Mexico. Quiet, less traveled beaches and expansive dune systems are added pleasures of this area. A few of the communities are residential or long term rental only but others accommodate full time living or short term rentals. Amenities typically include pools and boardwalks. Condominiums on the beachfront are general 4-12 story complexes with on-site rental programs. All beachfront condominiums will have swimming pools and boardwalks. A few also offer hot tubs tennis courts.
Port Aransas as it has always been – neighborhoods that mix old and new, large and small and many home styles. This is the perfect area to walk to the beach or bike into town and enjoy the charm of old Port A. Short term rentals are allowed in some areas but some pockets are residential with only long term rentals allowed. The new developments offer the charm of the old beach cottages with updated materials and amenities.
Mustang Island Beachfront
Condominiums and developments on the east side of Highway 361. This area comprises new beachside/beachfront communities and established condominium developments. Stroll along the beach or view the Corpus Christi skyline from the upper levels of the condominiums. These locations provide you with easy access to the restaurants and shops of Port Aransas or an easy drive to movies and shopping in Corpus Christi.
East Old Town
The old fishing village of Port Aransas is alive in this part of town. Enjoy walking, biking or golf carting to the beach, restaurants, shops or the harbor from this part of town. Quaint, quirky cute and beautiful are all words that come to mind when living in this area of Port A. Here we have mixed residential areas with artist studios, shops, homes, rental cottages, restaurants and businesses. This is “in town,” “old town” living at its best.
West Old Town
Businesses, homes and cottages area alive in this lively part of town. Homes and condominiums are located on the canals and offer a wide array of views including views of the flats, the canals, Palmilla Golf Course, the gulf and the Corpus Christi skyline. These are upscale neighborhoods that welcome families and second home users as well. The waters of the bays are at your doorsteps and gulf fishing is a short boat ride away.
